About Matt

From the corn fields and dairy farms of Upstate New York to the monument-loving state capital of Virginia. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Matt Harrington.

Matt is a writer, media designer, bass guitar novice, long-suffering Bills/Sabres fan, Apple gadgeteer and raging snark.

He’s married to a sassy little redhead and enjoys spending time with her and his dopey Chocolate Lab, Kenobi. In the summer, you can find the whole family at the river or taking walks through the neighborhood. In the winter, you can find them inside, huddled next to the TV watching hockey.

And as an added bonus to you, he’s currently a superstar freelancer – which is a nice way to say ‘unemployed’. That means Matt is available to come work for YOU. Remember this: new media, marketing, writing / blogging, design, music, awesome. That’s Matt, in a nutshell.

From the corn fields of Upstate New York to the monument-loving state capital of Virginia.  Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Matt Harrington.
I’ve been in broadcast media since 2000, when I moved to Richmond to work at NBC12.  Since then, I’ve been a television director, production coordinator, and most recently a graphic artist at Media General’s MGFX.
In my spare time, you can catch me socializing on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin or writing on my personal blog, Setting Mysellf on Fire.  I’m a music lover, collecting vinyl and discovering new, rockin’ indie bands all the time.  I recently starting playing bass, and play a little guitar, too.
I’m married to the love of my life, and enjoying every minute of it.  She’s a redhead and a teacher-to-be (fingers crossed!). I have a chocolate lab named Kenobi, who is deathly afraid of thunderstorms.
And as an added bonus to you, I’m currently unemployed – which means I’m available to come work for YOU.  Remember this:  new media, marketing, design, music, awesome.  That’s me, in a nutshell.
